What Participation Involves
* You will complete three nights of sleep data collection in your home. Two out of the three nights will wake you after 4-5 hours of sleep.
* The nights are non-consecutive and will be scheduled over several weeks.
* Study staff will arrive at your home 1 hour before your intended bedtime. You will take a 30-minute computer-based assessment, then staff will apply our sleep monitoring sensors (including a head cap with electrode gel), soft headphones on your ears with athletic tape, and adhesive electrodes behind your ears. Staff will then leave your home before you go to sleep.
* The following morning, you will complete another 30-minute computer-based assessment.
* During the night, the electrical signals from your brain activity will be recorded. There will be no video or audio recording.
* Soft audio tones may be played into headphones and mild stimulation may occur during sleep as part of the study.
* Study staff will return to your home to retrieve the equipment at a mutually agreed time after each study night.
* After each study night, electrode gel will be left in your hair. This gel washes out with regular shampoo and water.
